About Us

The Adams County Junior Livestock Sale Committee is dedicated to the education of 4-H Youth and the general public about the livestock industry. In providing a venue for the 4-H Youth Exhibitors of livestock projects, these young individuals can realize their rewards for the hard work and long hours required of their livestock projects.

The success of the Sale is made possible by the generous contributions and donations of individuals and businesses alike. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or buyer, please contact us.

2020 Sale Format Changes

As is likely expected, the 2020 Adams County Jr. Livestock Sale will look different this year than it has in years past. Due to restrictions surrounding COVID-19, the Adams County Junior Livestock Sale Committee voted to forego a physical junior livestock sale for the 2020 Adams County Fair. In lieu of the sale, the Committee has developed an online virtual marketing platform to connect buyers to 4-H members, as well as give buyers the opportunity to provide add-on premium donations for specific members, premium donations non-specific to member, or donations to the Adam Ginther Scholarship fund. Our Extension staff has been working with our 4-H members providing educational opportunities for marketing their livestock project, and all purchase of animals will be done through private treaty with the member. (If you are interested in purchasing animals for consumption, you will be able to denote this when you submit your buyer information. For examples of purchase options and private treaty information, please see page 3 of the buyer's letter).

To get started with the buying process this year, we are asking you to submit your information at the following website: After submitting your information and preferences for participation, a Sale Committee member or 4-H member will contact you directly.

Buyers will be able to view our 4-H members and their marketed animals at the following website:

Here, you will also be able to provide add-on donations or a donation to the Adams Ginther Memorial Scholarship (both of which are tax deductible). We will accept add-on donations for members through August 21, 2020.

The Adams County Junior Livestock Sale is a 501c3 non-profit, so part or all of the animal purchase price may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor for details.
